The problem: How do I make a simple, strong-holding and nice-looking faceplate for inset screws in a wooden frame?
The do-it-yourself shop does sell such covers but the shaft is often too long and too narrow for a good hold.
My solution: Get me some super magnets!
With a knife, carefully trim 2 mm off the end of the shaft. Push a suitable disc magnet or ring magnet into the hollow shaft. For the caps in the picture a ring magnet type R-06-02-02-G was used.
The faceplate now holds to the screw by itself!
